The original form stitches two helicoids and a minimal surface along their tangent lines and then is translated to a 20-foot-tall community outdoor playset.
In panelizing the original geometry using both secant planes and folded plates techniques, we introduced horizontal planes to create spaces of inhabitability and moments of playfulness. This is accomplished by both precisely imposing sets of extrinsic isocurves and selectively editing the discretized surfaces.
